Paddle & Pause

August 9th

Christie Lake Conservation Area
Dundas, ON

Join us for a unique experience created to help you slow down, reset & reconnect.

With nature. With your values. With yourself.

The day will begin with a guided paddleboard lesson, including skills & safety, led by Mary.

We’ll take a break to enjoy a healthy catered lunch before heading back on the boards.

While our paddleboards are docked together on the lake, you’ll enjoy a grounding meditation and mindful movement session.

Finally, we’ll finish the day with a workshop with Morgan, focused on The Foundations of Slow Living, exploring how to live slowly in a busy world.

This workshop is for all levels, even if you have never stepped on a paddleboard before.

It is meant to be a comfortable and fun experience for all!

Meet Your Hosts 〰️

Mary Palka, She Paddles Brant

Mary's goal with She Paddles is to bring together women eager to boost their confidence on the water, whether on a paddleboard or in a canoe.

She knows that many women hold back from enjoying activities like paddleboarding because of worries like, "What if I fall?" or "I'm not the outdoorsy type!" But she believes that getting out in nature—especially on the water—can refresh our spirits and calm our busy minds.

With a little guidance and tips on safe paddling, Mary hopes to help those who feel hesitant find the confidence to dive in and enjoy the adventure!

Morgan Emily, The Slow Living Society

Morgan Emily is a Registered Massage Therapist and Slow Living Guide who has been helping clients slow down and be more present over the course of 20 years.

After feeling tired of living her busy life in autopilot, she happened to discover slow living and knew it was the perfect for her.

Over the years, Morgan has refined what slow living is (and what it isn’t) and holds a deep passion ro share this way of living with as many people as possible.

She feels that now more than ever is the time to reconnect with the things that are most important in our lives in order to bring more connection, happiness and wellbeing back into our community.

Her hope is that you can slow down + enjoy life.
